Release Overview


Note: Customers who are upgrading to SmartOffice Pro directly from SmartOffice 7 with this release should refer to these release notes instead.


SmartOffice 2016 Release 4 is primarily intended to resolve performance and user interface issues in SmartOffice Pro Release 3. However, several SmartOffice Pro enhancements are included in the release. SmartOffice Anywhere has received significant enhancements in this release as well.

SmartOffice Anywhere



System Requirements


The system requirements remained unchanged in this release.


To avoid issues with correspondence, reports, data export and other features, users should make sure they have the latest version of the Microsoft Plug-in for SmartOffice installed. To check the plug-in version, look in the lower-right corner of the plug-in sign-in window.

Important Changes to Default Settings


This section highlights notable changes to SmartOffice settings and changes to system default settings that may alter existing workflows, reports and other areas of the system.


  • For new SmartView for Advisors accounts:

  • The Presale Activity/Proposals user right is now selected by default.
  • The SmartOffice Anywhere license is now selected by default.
  • The following user rights are now cleared and read-only by default: Timer Functionality, New (Comprehensive), SmartSearch, Case Status Reports, SmartPad and Sets.

Note Regarding Text Changes in SmartOffice


This release may contain minor changes to text in dialog boxes and other areas of the SmartOffice user interface. Changes of this type are typically made to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation and other language-related issues. Such changes normally are not listed in this document unless they affect the way the application works.

Core System


Enhancements


General

  • Reduced row height: The height of rows in SmartOffice Pro lists was reduced to display more records on the page. (PMG-656537)
  • Proxy creation/modification date columns: In lists that provide access to columns in the Proxy table (e.g., the Proxy content links in user accounts), user can now add the CreatedOn and ModifiedOn columns to display those dates. (PMG-656696)

Contact Management

  • Larger maximum character count for e-mail/web address remarks: In e-mail and web address entries, the maximum character count of the Remarks field was increased to 2,048 characters. Previously, the maximum was 120. (PMG-658869)

Correspondence

  • Ability to dismiss correspondence download message: In the correspondence workflow, the message that informs the user about downloading a file to complete the letter now contains an option to permanently dismiss the message.

PDF Reports

  • Ability to share more package reports by e-mail: From the Processed Reports Log, users can now select the Menu > E-mail command for report packages created for household, position and account group sets. (PMG-570931)

Resolved Issues


General

  • Administrators who tried to disable a user account were being presented with a user assignment dialog box that prevented them from completing the action. This issue was resolved. (PMG-633385)
  • The missing Merge Two Duplicates command on the Duplicate Tax ID List was restored. (PMG-640975)
  • In the Duplicate Records area of the system, the Mass Merge Duplicates command was not working when more than 500 records were selected. (PMG-641132)
  • Users who uploaded a custom office logo were finding that the image was distorted in SmartOffice, even when its dimensions were correct. This issue was resolved.  (PMG-643757)
  • Google Chrome users were finding that icons were missing from the Quick Action Corner. This issue was resolved. (PMG-647253)
  • When trying to mass assign a user to multiple contacts, users were seeing a progress bar, but the assignment was not working. This issue was resolved. (PMG-648025)
  • Several issues with exporting contacts to another office were resolved:

- After selecting a target office and user for the contacts and receiving the message that the contacts were accepted, users who clicked the OK button were seeing a progress bar, and then all screens were closing.


- The alert message displayed to the target user was not displaying properly.


- When the target user accepted the contacts, the Show Contact List dialog box was not closing.

  • Several issues with the User Rights Templates dialog box (accessed from Setup > User Rights Templates in the side menu) were resolved:

- The Menu commands were not in the correct order.


- The Customize List Layout command was missing.


- When users selected the command to create a template, the dialog box that opened was blank on one side.

  • Usability issues with the Pick Date button were resolved to make date selection easier. (PMG-654300)
  • On the Office Record Count content link in Office Settings, the Options button and horizontal scroll bar were missing. This issue was resolved. (PMG-656311)
  • When merging contacts on the Duplicate Contact List, users were not being prompted to delete the source record. This issue was resolved. (PMG-656489)
  • Several issues with creating records were resolved:

- When the user created a set or filter from the New menu, SmartOffice was not taking the user directly to the set or filter record.  


- When the user tried to create a contact, business, advisor or agency record from the New menu, the Cancel button in the dialog box that opened was not working.


- The workflow for copying a Dynamic Report was not working properly.

  • On the marketing campaign Detail content link, layout issues with Start Date and Through Date fields were resolved. (PMG-658618)
  • An issue that was preventing users from exporting more than 1,000 items from a list in SmartOffice Pro was resolved. (PMG-659165)
  • Two user interface issues were resolved:

- When users created a set using the New menu, the new set record was not opening automatically.


- During the page template import process, users were finding that the OK and Cancel buttons were missing from the Import Page Template dialog box.

  • When a SmartOffice administrator unchecked certain rights in a user rights templates, those changes were not being retained when the template was applied to a new or existing user account. This issue was resolved. (PMG-661508)
  • In the timer, the Stop and Pause buttons were misaligned. This issue was resolved. (PMG-661976)
  • Issues that users were having with the password reset process were resolved. (PMG-662221)
  • Two issues with drop-down list customization were resolved:

- When configuring list export options, users who selected the Post Message to Export Log option were finding that the Keyword drop-down list was not displaying custom choices.


- When using the Mass Modify feature, users who added custom choices to the drop-down list were finding that these choices were not appearing.

Contact Management

  • When customizing list and Dynamic Report column layouts, users were finding that the Primary Advisor column was missing from several tables. This issue was resolved. (PMG-568851)
  • An issue affecting contact lists and Dynamic Reports containing the Remarks column was resolved. When these lists and reports were exported to Excel format, blank lines in the remarks were being replaced with gibberish characters. (PMG-602049)
  • When included in a list layout, the Primary Advisor column from the Contact, Business and Household Head tables was displaying a number instead of the advisor's name. This issue was resolved. (PMG-635151)
  • Clicking the SS # field on the contact Personal content link was displaying only the last four digits of the Social Security number instead of the entire number. This issue was resolved. (PMG-642725)
  • An issue that was preventing users from entering and saving remarks in contact records after editing spouse information was resolved. (PMG-643313)
  • An "invalid relationship" error that occasionally occurred when adding key relations was resolved. (PMG-644950)
  • Keyboard selection of the household name in the contact Search dialog box was not working properly. This issue was resolved. (PMG-645951)
  • Two issues with page layout customization were resolved:

- When users changed the custom fields labels in the Miscellaneous Information section of the contact Add'l Personal content link, the changes were not being reflected in the list of available columns when users created or edited page layout formats.


- Users were unable to change the height of the Contact - Remarks portlet when creating custom layouts.

  • An issue that occurred when users selected the Business option from the search box drop-down list was resolved. When users clicked the Advanced Search hyperlink to open the Search dialog box, the Business option under Search Options was not automatically selected. (PMG-655351)
  • An issue with adding address information to a contact record was resolved. If the user clicked the OK button in the Address Detail dialog box before entering all required information, the OK and Cancel buttons were becoming unavailable. (PMG-655636)
  • Users were encountering an error when trying to view the Letters/Documents content link of any household record that had no head of household. This issue was resolved. (PMG-656269)
  • In the Matching Profile List dialog box, users who tried to use the Modify command on a listed contact were encountering an error. This issue was resolved. (PMG-661335)
  • While creating a contact using the New (Comprehensive) 'Contact' Record command, users were finding that the Pick Date button on the Expiration Date field was not working. This issue was resolved. (PMG-660367, PMG-661336)
  • Users were encountering an issue when the When creating or modifying a contact that is linked to a business option on the office settings SmartPad/New Contact/E-mail Posting content link was set to Ask Before Adding Business Key Relationship. When users created a business using the New menu in SmartOffice Pro, the box that asked about creating the business key relationship was expanding to fill the page. This issue was resolved. (PMG-660558)
  • Two user interface issues were resolved:

- When users created a set using the New menu, the new set record was not opening automatically.


- During the page template import process, users were finding that the OK and Cancel buttons were missing from the Import Page Template dialog box.

Correspondence

  • The AddressBN merge code was always displaying the preferred mailing address when it was expanded, even when the user selected a different address in the Correspondence Wizard. This issue was resolved. (PMG-603259)
  • An issue with the Use Default E-mail Signature from Outlook/Lotus Notes option in User Preferences > Correspondence Options was resolved. When this option was cleared, users who tried to override it by selecting the same option in the Correspondence Wizard were finding that the signature was still not being inserted. (PMG-648741)
  • Several issues with creating correspondence from a household record were resolved:

- Users were unable to select specific members of the household.


- Duplicate correspondence dialog boxes were opening.


- After selecting the correspondence method and template, users were finding that address and validation information was blank.

Data Import

  • Users who canceled the Data Import Wizard on the field mapping step were seeing a progress bar followed by an incorrectly sized dialog box. This issue was resolved. (PMG-659369)

Dynamic Reports

  • Layout issues that users encountered after running Dynamic Reports from the Other family were resolved. (PMG-656123)
  • Users who selected the Run Excel Template command for a Dynamic Report with no linked Excel template were seeing layout issues in the list export dialog box. This issue was resolved. (PMG-656671)
  • Users who viewed the usage statistics for a Dynamic Report were being presented with two identical dialog boxes. This issue was resolved. (PMG-657765)

Filters

  • When selecting fields in the Filter Setup dialog box, users were finding that the layout of the List Filter Details section was changing based on the currently selected column. This issue was resolved. (PMG-658279)

Home Page

  • Issues with Dynamic Report-category Dynamic Reports that were added to the home page were resolved. Users who clicked the name of a report listed in the results were encountering unexpected behavior. In some cases, SmartOffice was opening two report layout dialog boxes instead of running the report. In other cases, the report was being run, but the dialog box displaying the results was exhibiting layout problems. (PMG-646300)
  • An issue with missing buttons on home page Dynamic Report portlets was resolved. (PMG-653357)

PDF Reports

  • A "failed to load object" error that was occurring for some users when they ran PDF reports was resolved. (PMG-625805)
  • For enterprise and other customers who use Crystal Reports, issues that prevented those reports from working with SmartOffice Pro were resolved. (PMG-656905)

SmartPad

  • When composing SmartPad entries and Alert Center messages, users who clicked the Insert Link button were encountering user interface inconsistencies and difficulties inserting the link. These issues were resolved. (PMG-655687)
  • While viewing a SmartPad entry, users who clicked the Link button were finding that the dialog that opened was incorrectly titled "Opportunity List." In addition, the Opportunity List section of the dialog box had no title. These issues were resolved. (PMG-661022)

SmartCalendar


Resolved Issues


  • An activity linked to a policy was not remaining linked when the user created a follow-up activity and marked the original activity as Done. This issue was resolved. (PMG-621883)
  • The Go to a Specific Date command in the calendar was not working properly. This issue was resolved.  (PMG-645315)
  • An issue with selecting the Include spouse/partner option in activity records was resolved. When the spousal key relation was later deleted, the activity was still linked to both contacts. With this change, the spouse is now removed from the activity. (PMG-648298)
  • In the information card that appears when users point to activities in the calendar, the View Activity Notes and New Activity Note commands were not working. This issue was resolved. (PMG-655360)
  • Two issues with activity group scheduling were resolved:

- After navigating to the Scheduling tab in the Activity Detail dialog, users could not navigate to the Activity and Documents tabs.


- In calendar views, users who navigated to the Group Scheduling tab could not navigate to other tabs.

  • On the Contact List, an issue with Menu > Activity Options > Activity Outcome command was resolved. When a user selected the command and then selected the Enter an outcome without linking to an activity option in the Link Activity dialog box, the OK button was not responding. (PMG-658210)
  • After using the Search Activities command from the calendar, users who opened the activity notes for an activity and tried to archive an entry were seeing a blank dialog box. This issue was resolved. (PMG-658674)
  • The Apply List Filter command on the Calendar Day view was not working. This issue was resolved. (PMG-660365)
  • When users selected the Fact Finder Completed/Updated option in the comprehensive activity outcome workflow, the Pick Date button in the Birth Date field was not working. This issue was resolved. (PMG-660370)
  • The participant Delete button in Group Scheduling was not working for Google Chrome users. This issue was resolved. (PMG-661998)
  • In Group Scheduling, selecting a user group was not adding the group members to the Participants list. This issue was resolved. (PMG-662041)
  • Users who generated the Activity Statistics report using the Year to Date option were encountering an error when they tried to print the report. This issue was resolved. (PMG-662698)

SmartOpportunities


Resolved Issues


  • When the page layout of the opportunity Detail content link was customized, users who clicked the Contact Name hyperlink did not have the option to search for and select a business. This issue was resolved. (PMG-626853)
  • When users ran a Letter action for an opportunity stage, the letter was not being generated. This issue was resolved. (PMG-653153)
  • An issue that was causing the browser to become unresponsive when the user navigated to the Letters/Documents content link of an opportunity was resolved. (PMG-656632)
  • In Opportunity Setup, under Processes, the system was allowing users to select the Copy command without first selecting a process to copy. Users were then being prompted to enter a process name, and those who did so were encountering an error. This issue was resolved. (PMG-657284)
  • Several issues with contact creation and opportunity status updates were resolved:

- A "failed to load object" error was occurring when users canceled the contact creation process.


- When an opportunity's status was updated using the Status Update command, the Last Activity Outcome and Date fields on the opportunity Detail content link were blank.


- Users who updated an opportunity's status to Sale Made or Sale Lost using the Status Update command were seeing layout issues on the opportunity Detail content link.


- When an opportunity's status was changed to Mark Done using the Status Update command, the outcome workflow was freezing when the user tried to create an activity.

  • When selecting marketing options for a contact, users who selected a user for opportunity assignment were being prompted to do so again. This issue was resolved. (PMG-660912)
  • When Super Users selected the Search by opportunity owner option during opportunity searches, the results still included opportunities owned by users other than those specified. This issue was resolved. (PMG-661364)

SmartLeads


Resolved Issues


  • Users who selected the View Lead Notes command on the lead Custom content link were encountering a "failed to load object" error. This issue was resolved. (PMG-659219)
  • On the lead Detail content link, Internet Explorer users were unable to add text to the Areas of Interest box. This issue was resolved. (PMG-661642)

SmartRecruiting


Resolved Issues


  • Two issues with the recruiting status reports were resolved:

- When the user selected either report from the side menu, the options dialog box was not displaying years in the Year field.


- Clicking the Run button was producing an error.

  • Several candidate record and module setup issues were resolved:

- On the candidate Personal content link, selecting an option other than Unknown or Other Sources from the How Secured drop-down list was causing page layout issues.


- On the candidate Personal content link, the Pick Date button in the COI Interview field was not working.


- Layout issues in candidate records were causing sections to overlap.


- Changes to a candidate's SS # field were not being saved.


- After defining the interview and actions for each stage in the Position Setup Wizard, users were being signed out.


- When hiring a candidate, users who clicked the Complete button in the Rapid Completion of Requirements dialog box were being signed out.


- Changing the status of a candidate was resulting in an "insert/update failed" error.


- Users could not change a candidate's status from Candidate to Hired/Contracted.


- The Hire command workflow was not working properly.

  • While adding pre-contract curricula to a candidate record, users were finding that the Score 1 and Score 2 fields of the curriculum detail dialog box were too small. This issue was resolved. (PMG-656326)
  • After running the Recruiting Status Report - YTD, users who tried to print the report were encountering an error stating that the file was damaged. This issue was resolved. (PMG-656330)
  • Users were unable to complete a candidate import setup because of missing Back, Next and Cancel buttons in the import setup wizard. These buttons were restored. (PMG-658212)
  • When the Nominator and Recruiter fields were present in a custom page layout applied to the candidate Personal content link, the field names were not hyperlinked. This issue was resolved. (PMG-658672)
  • In Step 3 of the Position Setup Wizard, the Relationships list was not displaying the actions for each stage in the correct order. This issue was resolved. (PMG-659040)
  • In Step 3 of the Position Setup Wizard, the instructions in the dialog box were displayed twice. This issue was resolved. (PMG-660317)
  • A "failed to load object" error that occurred when users tried to print the stage, interview and action lists on the candidate Interview/Actions content link was resolved. (PMG-661649)
  • In Step 3 of the Position Setup Wizard, users who tried to mark a stage action as Required were encountering a "failed to load form" error. This issue was resolved. (PMG-664473)

Advisors/Agencies


Resolved Issues


General

  • An issue with the New (Comprehensive) - Advisor dialog box was resolved. When the user selected a contact using the Lookup or Search button in the Add Key Relations, Add More Key Relations or Add Professional Advisors section, the button was not changing to a Clear button. (PMG-648307)
  • Several issues with presale activities were resolved:

- When a presale activity was converted to a pending case, the presale owner was not being copied to the pending case.


- When creating a quick quote from a business record's Presale Activity/Proposals tab, users who clicked the List content link were encountering an error.


- In the Additional Result Section of a presale record, related fields were not grouped together.

  • When expanded, the AllOpenIllustrationInfo presale merge code was displaying a number instead of the name of the insured risk class. This issue was resolved. (PMG-656807)
  • In the advisor contract information dialog box, entering a past date in Expiration Date field was not automatically changing the Status field to Expired. In addition, when the user clicked the OK button after making that change and opened the record again, the Expiration Date field was blank. These issues were resolved. (PMG-656986)
  • During the advisor merge process, when a user opted to display a list of matching duplicate advisors, the dialog displaying those matches was not opening. This issue was resolved. (PMG-657308)
  • For users who did not have the Production Dashboard license enabled, the Pick Date button on the Hire Date field of the advisor Personal content link was not working. This issue was resolved. (PMG-659351)

SmartView for Advisors

  • Several changes affecting new SmartView for Advisors accounts were made:

  • The Presale Activity/Proposals user right is now selected by default.
  • The SmartOffice Anywhere license is now selected by default.
  • The following user rights are now cleared and read-only by default: Timer Functionality, New (Comprehensive), SmartSearch, Case Status Reports, SmartPad and Sets.
  • An issue that caused the Default location at sign-in preference to display a number was resolved.
  • An issue that prevented advisors from signing in was resolved.

SmartPolicies


Enhancements


  • New benefit field for reports: In long-term care policy and pending case records, a field called Benefit for Reports was added. The amount entered in this field appears in PDF reports such as the Policy Summary. The field was added to address an issue in which amounts entered for maximum lifetime and monthly benefits for these policies were not being reflected in reports. (PMG-255149)
  • Deleted policies retained after merge: After a policy merge, SmartOffice now moves the deleted source policy to the Deleted Records area of the system. Previously, the source policy was being deleted completely after being merged into the target. (PMG-610135)
  • Tax type for life policies and cases: Users can now designate life policies and pending cases as being qualified or non-qualified for tax purposes. A new Tax Type drop-down list is now available on the life policy Benefits content link and the pending case Detail content link. (PMG-657704)
  • Ability to delete child-office advisor records: Parent-office users who have Enterprise View turned on can now delete advisor records residing in child offices. Previously, these users could only add or modify those records. (PMG-659928)
  • Policy note notification enhancement: In policy notes, when a user selects the Send this note as an alert and e-mail to other user(s) option, the e-mail message now contains the policy number, insured's name, carrier and unique case ID in the subject line. (PMG-662735)

Resolved Issues


  • When creating Policy-family Dynamic Reports, users could not include advisor phone and address information because the Advisor Preferred Phone and Preferred Address tables were missing from the report layout options. This issue was resolved. (PMG-621923)
  • Several policy import issues were resolved:

  • The system was not calculating commissionable modal premium for imported policies when the flat extra was greater than the modal premium.
  • When the Update existing policies based on policy # only option was not selected in the import setup, any existing policies updated with flat extra data from the import file were showing a commissionable modal premium value of 0.00.
  • When an existing policy was updated with imported modal premium and flat extra data such that flat extra was greater than modal premium, the commissionable modal premium value was not updating.

  • In the Policy Add dialog box, users were unable to change the contact once it had been specified. This issue was resolved. (PMG-648289)
  • When expanded, the BeneficiaryNames merge code was displaying the names of policy beneficiaries whose role was Beneficiary but not those whose role was Beneficiary 2. This issue was resolved. (PMG-652544)
  • On the policy Benefits content link, the Pick Date button on the Final Conversion Date field was not working. This issue was resolved. (PMG-653675)
  • Several issues with Smart Validation's handling of policy data were resolved:

- When a policy's primary insured and primary contact were different, the benefit data in the insured's contact record was not being updated.


- When a policy's insured and owner were changed, the benefit and annualized premium values were not being cleared from the old contacts.


- When a policy's benefit and annualized premium values were changed, that data was not being cleared from contacts that were no longer linked to the policy as insured or owner.



(PMG-656338)


  • Users were unable to calculate policy fees from the household Policies content link. This issue was resolved. (PMG-658643)
  • When policies were merged, the source policy was being permanently deleted from the system. This was causing commission payable records to be deleted as well. To resolve this issue, the source policy is now moved to the Deleted Records area of the system, and commission payable records are moved properly to the target policy. (PMG-659928)
  • On the policy Basic Information content link, there was no space between the Future Payment and Payment History buttons in the Premium Information section. This issue was resolved. (PMG-664604)

Insurance Products and Carriers


Resolved Issues


  • Users in child offices were able to delete key relations from parent-office carrier records. This issue was resolved. (PMG-652608)
  • Users were encountering issues opening forms on the carrier Forms content link. These issues were resolved. (PMG-657715)
  • When users tagged two products in a list and selected the Copy Product command, they were seeing a blank dialog box instead of the message stating that only the highlighted record would be processed. This issue was resolved. (PMG-661381)

SmartCaseManager


Resolved Issues


  • When prompted to send a letter in response to a change in an underwriting requirement, users who clicked the Yes button were finding that the related contacts were not automatically selected. This issue was resolved. (PMG-573610)
  • An issue that occurred when users marked pending cases as Approved was resolved. When the status selection dialog box opened, the Status drop-down list was displaying only two choices at a time. The drop-down list was expanded to display more choices. (PMG-629959)
  • In Policy/Case Setup, an issue with the Requirements > Underwriting section was resolved. When the user tried to change a requirement's type, the dialog box for selecting a new type was not opening completely. (PMG-647112)
  • On the pending case Delivery content link for disability and long-term care policies, the Delivery Requirement List section was not expanding vertically to fill the space on the page. This issue was resolved. (PMG-648150)
  • An issue that occurred when users created pending cases for unmatched HO pending cases was resolved. In the Pending Case Add Detail dialog box, when users clicked the New button to add the insured as a new contact record, only the last four digits of the contact's Social Security number were being transferred to the Contact Information dialog box. (PMG-657047)
  • In Policy/Case Setup, Google Chrome users who changed settings in DataXchange Setup > Resource Data Setup and then saved those changes were unable to access those settings again. This issue was resolved. (PMG-657745)

  • Several issues with the advisor Commission content link were resolved:

- When the Status drop-down list on the top Advisor Payment List was set to All and the user tried to print the bottom Advisor Payment List using the Print All option, the printout was displaying no records.


- After users manually added a payment with a status other than Open to the bottom Advisor Payment List, opening the new payment record was changing its status to Open.


- When the Status drop-down list on the top Advisor Payment List was set to Payment Due and the list was printed using the Print All option, the printout was including all records instead of just those records matching the selected status.

  • An issue was occurring when an advanced commission split was linked to a policy such that there was an advisor paid by the carrier having a percentage of base commission. When the commission for the policy was calculated from Speed Receipts, the processing dialog box with the error message was not appearing. (PMG-656596)
  • When an Enterprise View user selected an advisor contract or refreshed the commission hierarchy for a child-office policy, the prompt to select a supervisor contract was not displaying all active contracts. This issue was resolved. (PMG-656704)

Investment Accounts

  • Users were unable to merge non-duplicate investment accounts when the source and target accounts were linked to different contacts. This issue was resolved. (PMG-646071)
  • Adding the Custodian Name column to the Investment Account List was causing the list to appear blank. To resolve this issue, the Import table containing that column was removed from the list layout options. (PMG-648774)

Investment Positions

  • When office security was enabled and a user privatized an investment account, the positions in the account were not also being privatized. This issue was resolved. (PMG-620043)
  • An issue that was preventing new Sell-type transactions from appearing on the Position Transactions content link was resolved. (PMG-640971)

Investment Reports

  • An issue that occurred when a user ran a PDF report from the Account Groups section of the investment Account Detail content link was resolved. When the user was prompted to enter report options, optional disclaimers were not visible. (PMG-641312)
  • In several investment reports, layout issues that were causing data to overlap were resolved. (PMG-650710)
  • An issue with the Asset Allocation - Target vs. Actual report was resolved. The issue occurred when the user specified an As of Date in the report options. If the Missing Prices utility appeared and the user clicked the OK button to retrieve missing security prices, the report was not being generated. (PMG-655955)
  • When running Performance-category PDF reports, users were finding that any dates they entered as report options using the Pick Date button were not being accepted. This issue was resolved. (PMG-659367)

Investment Securities

  • An issue affecting custom asset classes created in parent offices was resolved. In child offices, certain lists and reports that display securities and positions were identifying those asset classes by numbers instead of their names. (PMG-536162)

Performance Calculations

  • Users who ran performance calculations from the Performance content link of a contact were encountering a "processing cancelled" error. This issue was resolved. (PMG-644439)

Insurance Sync

  • Enhanced case matching: The algorithm for matching agency pending case records to advisor pending case records was improved. The improvements address situations in which agency pending cases are linked to resource-office carriers or products that contain no carrier codes and/or product codes. (PMG-651362)

Pending Case Downloads

  • Annuitant and requirement type improvements: When a primary annuitant is not present in the download, SmartOffice now sets the primary insured as the primary annuitant on the pending case. In addition, requirements with the ACORD type code 2147483647 now display the requirement description in the pending case instead of "Other." (PMG-663396)

SmartXchange

  • Automatic advisor user rights assignment: When a SmartView for Advisors user account is automatically created in SmartOffice by SAML or VitalTerm/VitalLTC, a predefined set of user rights and licenses configured at the site level can now be automatically assigned to the account. (PMG-662692)

General

  • Users who tried to set up the Albridge Applink integration from SmartOffice Anywhere were encountering visual and usability issues with the account setup dialog box, including size and appearance inconsistencies affecting fonts and buttons. These issues were resolved. (PMG-647770)

Investment Data Downloads

  • The Data Import Log was taking a long time to load when it contained a large number of records. This issue was resolved. (PMG-646317)
  • While setting up investment data downloads in SmartOffice Anywhere, users were allowed to enter invalid credentials. This issue was resolved. (PMG-646344)
  • When a Super User ran reconciliation from the Data Import Log for new and out-of-balance positions, the reconciliation report was not displaying any positions even when such positions existed. This issue was resolved. In addition, several layout and text issues with the reconciliation report were corrected, as were a number of inconsistencies with the visibility of the reconciliation button. (PMG-644961)

Pending Case Downloads

  • On the HO Pending Case List, uses who selected Menu > View XML Case were seeing a dialog box with no OK and Cancel buttons. The buttons were restored. (PMG-655991)
  • An issue with Direct Download and Replace was resolved. The system was updating the status date of existing cases to match the last activity date, even when there was no change in the status of the case. This issue was resolved. (PMG-659368)
  • An issue that was causing the Other Insured field in downloaded pending case records to be incorrectly set to "Y" was resolved. (PMG-660639)

Set Privacy and Modification Restrictions


Several enhancements were made to sets in SmartOffice Anywhere.



  • Set modification restrictions: Users can now specify that only they can modify particular sets that they have created in SmartOffice Anywhere. When creating or editing a set, a user can select the new Only Modifiable by Me option to prevent other users from modifying the set. (PMG-656238)
  • Set privatization: Users can now mark sets as private in SmartOffice Anywhere. When creating or editing a set, a user can select the new Mark Private option to prevent other users from seeing the set. (PMG-656267)
  • Favorite sets: Users can now designate specific sets as favorites, making them easier to find. To mark a set as a favorite, open the set, tap or click the options menu, and then select Add to My Favorites. To display all favorites, go to the Set List and tap or click the Show My Favorites slider to move it to the Yes position. (PMG-656268)

Default Landing Page Selection


In Settings, an option was added in the Profile section to specify which page the user sees first when signing in to SmartOffice Anywhere.



The Default location at sign-in drop-down list offers the following options: Dashboard, Day, Agenda, Week, Month, Policy List, Presale List, Opportunity List and Alert Center. (PMG-656255)


Other Enhancements


  • Calendar/task view enhancements: The Calendar View Options and Task View Options that a user selects in SmartOffice Pro (User Preferences > Calendar Options) now apply to SmartOffice Anywhere. This means that, when a SmartOffice Anywhere user changes the calendar view to see another user's activities, the other user's SmartOffice Pro settings determine which activities are visible.   • Household updates for family relations: When a user adds a Family-type key relation to a contact, SmartOffice Anywhere now asks whether a new household should be created or, if a household already exists, whether it should be updated with the new relation.  (PMG-656287)
  • New menu button icon: Throughout SmartOffice Anywhere, the icon for the menu button was changed to a "hamburger"-style icon to make it consistent with modern user interface design conventions. (PMG-656288)
  • Opportunity search by process: Users can now search for opportunities by process name. To do so, select the new Process option in the Opportunity List's Search drop-down list. (PMG-662753)

  • When using the Print button on the Advisors/Agencies List, users were finding that the first two column headings in the printout were missing. This issue was resolved. (PMG-640933)
  • An issue that occurred when an activity was marked as Done in the Activities section of the advisor detail screen was resolved. During the activity outcome workflow, users who tapped or clicked the Add Referral button were not being presented with a dialog box to enter the new contact's details. (PMG-642955)
  • When iOS users added an icon for SmartOffice Anywhere to the home screen from Safari, an incorrect icon was appearing. A proper SmartOffice Anywhere icon now appears. (PMG-644072)
  • In the Contact Information section of a contact record, clicking any website address beginning with http:// was failing to take the user to the site. This issue was resolved. (PMG-649488)
