Investment Account Notes
Account notes are SmartPad notes specifically related to an investment account. To view account notes:
- Search for and select and investment account.
- Select Menu > View Investment Account Notes.
To create account notes: - Search for and select and investment account.
- Select Menu > New Investment Account Note to open the New Investment Account Note dialog box.
- Enter the content of the note in the Notes area.
- Click the Save button to save the note and continue editing it.
- When finished, click the OK button.
Reassigning an Account's Primary Contact
There are two ways to change the primary contact associated with an investment account.
Method 1
- Tag an account in the Investment Account List.
- Select Menu > Advanced Options > Reassign Primary Contact to open the Reassign Primary Contact dialog box.
- Enter the name of the new contact in the Primary Contact field.
- Click the Save button.
Method 2
- Search for the investment account.
- Open the account's Account Detail content link.
- In the Interested Parties section, click the name of the primary contact to open the Investment Contact Detail dialog box.
- Click the Clear button in the Contact field.
- Enter the name of the new contact (last name, first name) or click the Contact hyperlink to search for and select the new contact.
- Click the OK button.
Mass Modifying Investment Accounts
The information in certain investment account fields (e.g., Account Name, Account Type, How Held, Owner, Open Date, Purpose, Systematic Plan and Amount) can be modified for multiple records at once. See Mass Modify.
Linking an Unassigned Investment Account to a Contact
Note: This feature is available only to users who have the Show Link Accounts side menu license enabled in User Accounts
- User Rights.
- From the SmartOffice side menu, select Investments > Link Account to Contact to open the Search Unassigned Investment Accounts dialog box.
- Enter the account criteria or leave the fields blank to display all unassigned accounts.
- Click the Search button to display the Investment Accounts Not Assigned to a Contact list.
- Tag an account and then select Menu > Assign Contact to Account.
