Synchronization settings can be specified
either from SmartOffice or from SmartOffice Mobile PC.
Sync Setup from SmartOffice)

In SmartOffice, select Mobile
PC Setup from the expanded Setup
menu to open the SmartOffice Mobile PC – Synchronization Setup
Wizard.

Click the Next button
to open the Contact Selection dialog box where all contacts and
businesses in the database (or a specific set of contacts) can
be defined to download. For details on how to synchronize sets,
refer to the Set-based Synchronization section.

Click the Next button
to open the Activity Selection dialog box. Define the date range
of these activities to be downloaded by entering the number of
days in both the Next and Previous Days fields.
Note: Both timed and untimed activities
are downloaded for the specified date range.

Click the Next button
to open the SmartPad Selection dialog box. Enter the number of
months of SmartPad entries to be synchronized and then specify
the maximum number of SmartPad entries per contact. Select the
SmartPad Notes Only option
to download only manually entered notes.

Click the Next button
to open the Download Description dialog box that lists the synchronization
setup summary.

After confirming that the information is correct, click
the Finish button.
Sync Setup Modification

When synchronization is performed after modifying the setup,
the following dialog box opens.

Click the No button
to keep the existing records in SmartOffice Mobile PC. Click the
Yes button to delete all
records in SmartOffice Mobile PC and then, based on the setup
criteria, download a new set of data from SmartOffice to SmartOffice
Mobile PC.
Sync Setup from SmartOffice Mobile PC)
After signing in to SmartOffice Mobile PC, click the Mobile
PC Setup button on the toolbar; or, select Mobile
Setup from the expanded File
menu. This enables the user to specify the setup criteria for SmartOffice
Mobile PC and SmartOffice synchronization, just as the user can from
SmartOffice.
Note:
The user must have SmartOffice open to use this feature.
Data Synchronization
A sync operation can be started from either SmartOffice or SmartOffice
Mobile PC.
Synchronization from SmartOffice
Any records added or modified in either SmartOffice or SmartOffice Mobile
PC since the last sync (e.g., contacts, phone numbers, address, e-mail
addresses, activities, households, key relations, SmartPad notes, etc.)
are updated in both SmartOffice and SmartOffice Mobile PC.

Select Sync Mobile PC
from the expanded Setup menu
to open the synchronization dialog box.

After synchronization is complete, a “Synchronization complete”
message displays in the Synchronization Details section.

Click the Close button
to complete the sync and view the synced data in SmartOffice Mobile
PC.
Synchronization from SmartOffice Mobile PC
Click the Sync button from the
SmartOffice Mobile PC toolbar; or, select Sync
from the expanded File menu to
begin the synchronization process.
