Policy Notes


To view notes about a policy, open the policy (or tag one or more policies in the Global Policy List) and then select Menu > View Policy Notes. The Policy Notes dialog box opens.

To read a note, click its first-column hyperlink. To add a note, select Menu > New 'Policy Notes' record to open the New Policy Note dialog box.

Enter the text of the note and other details and then click the OK button.


Linking a Policy to a Multi-Life Policy


A policy can be linked to a multi-life policy as a "child" policy. Linked policies can be managed from the parent policy's Related Policies content link, but the user can also link or unlink a policy directly from the intended child policy record. To link a policy:


  • Search for the child policy and open it.
  • Click the Basic Information content link.
  • Select Menu > Link to Existing Policy to open the Search Policies dialog box.
  • Search for and select the parent policy

To unlink a policy: - Search for the child policy and open it.


  • Click the Basic Information content link.
  • Select Menu > Unlink Policy.

To view a child policy's parent policy: - Search for the child policy and open it.


  • Click the Basic Information content link.
  • Select Menu > Show Parent Policy.

Viewing a Policy's Linked Pending Case


Users who have a SmartCaseManager license can quickly display the pending case related to a policy. - Search for the policy and open it.


  • Click the Basic Information content link.
  • Select Menu > Pending Case Management.

While viewing the case, the user can return to the policy by selecting Menu > Policy List.


Copying Data from One Policy to Other Policies


Users can copy data such as notes, requirements, documents, and more from one policy to one or more existing policies. Tip: This feature is also available for pending case records. For more information, see Pending

Cases - Additional Pending Case Management Features. - Search for the policy and open it to view the Basic Information content link.


  • Select Menu > Advanced Options > Copy Policy Data to Existing Policy to open the list of data types you can copy.
  • Select the Yes option for every data type you want to copy, and then select Search.
  • Perform a policy search for the policy or policies you want to copy the data to. The search is limited to policies linked to the same primary contact.
  • In the list of search results, select one or more policies, and then select Copy.
