Insurance Carriers - Detail Content Link
Overview
While viewing a carrier, the user can access this content link to view the carrier's basic information, including contact information and communication preferences.
The Communication Privacy, Preferred Communication, Phone Numbers, Addresses and E-mail/Web Addresses sections of a carrier are the same as those on the business Detail content link. The other sections are described below.
You can customize this content link to display different content if you have the appropriate user rights (see Page Layout Customization). This topic describes the contents of the SmartOffice default layout.
Basic Information Section
- NAIC ID: The carrier's National Association of Insurance Commissioners company code. This information is available from the NAIC's Consumer Insurance Search page.
- Primary Contact: The Primary Contact field links a SmartOffice contact to the carrier record. If this field is blank, click the Primary Contact hyperlink to create or select a contact.
- NAIC Group Code: The carrier's National Association of Insurance Commissioners group code.
- Carrier ID: This ID is used when pending case or policy updates are downloaded to SmartOffice through integrations such as Pending Case Download. Users who do not know a carrier's ID can contact SmartOffice Technical Support to obtain this information.
- Age Calculation: The carrier's default method of age calculation used for the issue age of new policies. Products created for the carrier will inherit this setting by default, but the setting can be changed at the product level.
- Status: Select one of the following carrier status options from this drop-down list:
- Active: Pending cases can be linked to this carrier. In addition, when the user searches for carriers, the system displays only active carriers by default.
- Inactive: Pending cases cannot be linked to this carrier. In addition, when the user searches for carriers, the system hides inactive carriers by default (although the user can configure the search to include them). In lists, these carriers are highlighted in red.
- No PCM Activity: These carriers are active but cannot be linked to future pending cases. In lists, these carriers are highlighted in light yellow.
Class List Section
The Class List section contains the risk classes that are available for all of the carrier's products. When the user adds classes to a new product, only the classes defined in the carrier record can be selected.
