Overview
Keyboard shortcuts enable the user to carry out common SmartOffice tasks
without having to use a mouse to click buttons and access menus. These
special key combinations help users increase their speed and efficiency
in using the system.

Keyboard Shortcut Basics
In many cases, SmartOffice offers the user visual
clues to the keyboard shortcuts available from any particular module.

in parentheses. Holding down the ALT key while pressing the appropriate
key displays that content link.
The user can also learn the shortcut key for a particular
command from the Menu button.
Click the button to view the available shortcuts along the right side
of the expanded menu.

Navigates to the previous
record.
ALT+SHIFT+RIGHT
Navigates to the next record.
ALT+SHIFT+Y
Displays the Calendar Day.
ALT+SHIFT+W
Displays the Calendar Week.
ALT+SHIFT+M
Displays the Calendar Month.
ALT+SHIFT+L
Displays the Calendar Agenda.
ALT+Q
Jumps to the Search section
drop-down list.
ALT+F
Jumps to the Search box.
ALT+C
Toggles between tagging/untagging
all records in the current list (on some lists, this combination
has a different function).
CTRL+INSERT
Creates a new record (the
type of record depends on the SmartOffice module currently being
used).
CTRL+S
Saves any changes made to
the current record.
CTRL+DELETE
Deletes the current record.
CTRL+F6
Opens the SmartDialer.
SHIFT+F7
Opens a new SmartPad note.
SHIFT+F12
Creates a new task activity.
F2
With the cursor inserted
in a field that contains a linked dialog box, press this key to
open that dialog box. For example, pressing this key while the
cursor is inserted in a date field opens a calendar dialog box
from which the user can select a date.
F6
Opens the Search dialog box
for the module currently being viewed.
F7
Opens the SmartPad. (After
opening the SmartPad, press F7 again to create a new SmartPad
note.)
F8
Opens the Activity Log for
the currently selected record.
F9
Opens a new Intra-Office
E-mail message (when that function is available from the current
page).
F10
Opens the Correspondence
Options dialog box (when that feature is available from the current
page).
F12
Creates a new calendar activity.
