SmartOffice Mobile for Palm and Pocket PC Installation


Note: This product is no longer being actively developed. Ebix's current mobile SmartOffice solution is SmartOffice Anywhere.


Install SmartOffice Mobile for Palm)


  1. From the side menu, click Setup and then select Installations from the expanded menu to display the Installations List.
  2. Click the hyperlink for SmartOffice PDA for Palm and Pocket PC to open the Install SmartOffice for Mobile Devices dialog box.
  3. Click the hyperlink for either SmartOffice Mobile for Palm or SmartOffice Mobile for Pocket PC to open the File Download dialog box.
  4. Click the Save button.
  5. Specify the directory where the ezm\_palm.exe (Palm) or ezm\_ppc.exe (Pocket PC) file will be saved in the Save In field and then click the Save button.
  6. Locate the directory where the file was saved, double-click the ezm\_palm.exe or ezm\_ppc.exe file and follow the prompts to perform the installation.

Initial SmartOffice Mobile for Palm Setup on the Palm OS® Device)


  1. On the Palm device, select SmartOffice Mobile from the Main category.
  2. Enter the Office Name and User Name and then select Done.
  3. From the Synchronization Options screen, select the appropriate Type of Synchronization option.
  4. Enter the Mobilink Server or Host name and then tap Done.
  5. Perform a synchronization operation.
