Overview
The two most common methods for search for policies in SmartOffice are to use the Search section or the side menu.
Searching from the Search Box
- In the Search box, select Insurance > Policy from the drop-down list.
- Enter a full or partial policy number in the adjacent field, or leave the field blank to search for all active policies.
- Click the Search button.
Searching from the Side Menu
- Select Policies from the expanded Insurance menu to open the Search Policies dialog box.
- Click the Search button without entering any search criteria to display all active policies, or enter criteria to narrow down the search. (The default policy stage for searches can be defined in Policy/Case Setup - PCM Workflows.)
- Click the Search button.
Note: The default policy stage for policy searches can be changed in Policy/Case Setup.
Global Policy List
If more than one record is found during a policy search, the results are displayed in the Global Policy List.
Note: If only one policy matches the search, that record opens directly. Policies highlighted in red are inactive. Click the first-column hyperlink of any policy record to view and manage the policy.
Most of the columns correspond to fields available in policy records (see Viewing and Managing Policies). The following are special columns that are available only as list columns:
- Days to Active: The number of days it took for a policy to move from the Underwriting stage to the Inforce stage.
- Paid: The date of the most recent Paid-status entry in the policy's status history.
For information about working with lists in SmartOffice, see Lists.
