Overview

When creating a filter,

the user has the option of adding advanced or "system" filter

criteria.

Advanced filters are useful for identifying records that have or do

not have specific information. Examples of such records:

-

Contacts with no e-mail address

-

Contacts who have had no SmartPad

activity within the past year

-

Policies that have a specific rider

Adding Advanced Filter Criteria

-

Create a filter.

-

In the Filter Criteria section of the New Filter dialog box,

click the Advanced Filter

drop-down list.

-

Select a table from the list, e.g., E-mail/Web

Addresses. The new criterion displays in the Filter Criteria

list.

-

If necessary, click the has

hyperlink to toggle it to has no.

-

Click the hyperlinks in parentheses to specify the advanced

filter's criteria. This opens a new dialog box.

-

Add filter criteria to this dialog box using the same process

for [adding basic filter

criteria](/help/pro/filters/-/creating/a/filter).

-

Click the OK button.

-

If necessary, create additional advanced filter criteria.

Note: Like basic filter criteria,

multiple advanced filter criteria can be linked with AND/OR operators

and grouped using brackets to form more complex filters. For more

information about working with multiple filter criteria, see Creating a Filter.
