Converting a Contact or Advisor to a Candidate
If an existing SmartOffice contact or advisor is being considered for a position in the organization, it is not necessary to create a new candidate record for that person. The existing contact or advisor record can be converted to a candidate record for insertion into a hiring workflow.
This feature can also be useful if a candidate is accidentally entered into the system as a contact or advisor.
- Open a contact or advisor record, or select one from the Contact List or Advisor List.
- Select Menu \> Convert to Candidate from the expanded menu.
Converting a Candidate to a Contact
Similarly, candidates can be converted to contacts. This feature can be useful if, for example, a candidate is no longer being considered for a position, but the organization still wants to conduct business with that person in some capacity.
- Open a candidate record or select one from the Candidate/Recruit List.
- Select Menu \> Convert Candidate to Contact.
